Finally, December is upon us, and everything Christmas-related can begin without any complaints of it being “too early.”
This means baking delicious Christmas cookies, beginning your Advent calendar, hauling out the decorations, and starting on that Christmas book pile that’s been growing for two months.
As with everything this time of year, it’s always much more fun to read as a family, curled up by the fire with warm, festive mugs of cocoa. So with that in mind, here are 8 children’s Christmas books you’ll want to read with your little ones this year.
01 | Little Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Edition by Charles Dickens (illustrated by Joe Sutphin)
Dickens’ classic tale has remained a Christmas staple for good reason. And with this illustrated edition, readers will be delighted and transported to another world with the gorgeous settings and darling woodland creatures.

This book will delight you and your wee ones to your toes.

This adorable tale takes readers along for the journey when, right before the Christmas play, Sister Dymphna goes missing. Perfectly suited for a night by the fire as the snow falls just beyond the window.
